Gomis last goal came against Manchester United on August 30 and he is looking every bit the player out of form as shown last weekend when he missed a gilt edged chance against Arsenal at the Liberty.
Gomis started the season on sparkling form with four goals in four games which made him one of the form players at that point in time but since then he has failed to find the net and the main stat used when talking about him at the moment is one that he has been called offside far more than anyone else in the Premier League this season.
There have been calls from sections of the support for Gomis to be dropped and replaced by Eder but it does look like Monk will keep faith with his underfire striker this afternoon as we go in search of a second successive win on the road to take us into the next international break of the season.
รขโฌลOf course you want your strikers and all your players to score,รขโฌย said Monk. รขโฌลBut itรขโฌโขs a collective and I have great confidence in Bafe.
รขโฌลI think the team needs to play better as a whole to create more chances. Bafe works very hard and, like the whole team, is working hard to try and get a run of results.รขโฌย
