Bradley Had To Go

Bradley was dismissed from the club on Tuesday after just 85 days in charge at the Liberty, a reign that spanned just eleven games. It appears on the face of it to be a gamble that backfired big stake with the Swans not just being beaten but being beaten heavily in his last three games in charge.

Those last three games saw us ship ten goals with just two in return and the final straw was clear for all to see on Monday as West Ham scored four at the Liberty to effectively place the final nail in the coffin of the Swans manager.

It always seemed an odd decision when he was appointed back in October and so it proved to be and now the search will go on for the Swans fourth permanent manager in little more than twelve months and one that we desperately need to stop a tide that seems certain to end our 6 year stay in the Premier League.

The Swans need to be on the look out for a manager who can at least give us a fighting chance of staying in the top flight, something that was pretty clear we would never have under Bradley.

We all have views on why he was appointed in the first place but the key part is that we have acted before it is too late and similarly we have gone back to the right way of doing things and consulting and listening to the Supporters Trust in terms of what should happen.

We should also not be hurried into naming a replacement for Bradley. We have two important league games in Bournemouth (Saturday) and Crystal Palace (Tuesday) but beyond that we have ten days between league games and that should be plenty of time to ensure we have someone in place.

We do of course have the added pressure of the transfer window opening and our desire to give the new manager as long as possible but similarly the right manager with two weeks to operate in the window is better than the wrong manager having four.

The pressure is very much now on the club to make the right decision and who knows maybe that right decision maybe enough for us to turn things around enough to scrape safety this season.

We can hope anyway
