Three managers have passed through the Liberty Stadium doors this season but it was Paul Clement who oversaw an escape that nobody thought was going to be possible when we reached the halfway point of the season with just twelve points on the board.
But an incredible turnaround that has seen us take ten of the last twelve points has made us safe with one week to spare and now we can enjoy the last week of the season.
The club have their official player of the year dinner this week where the recipient of the Evening Post award will be announced but this is a chance to make your own votes for the player of the year.
Despite the trauma of the season there are some strong candidates for me who include Fernando Llorente for his goals (more headed goals than any other Premier League player) – Gylfi Sigurdsson who was part of 22 of our goals this season between assists and scorers and of course the part played – albeit a small one – of captain Leon Britton towards the end of the season.
So you can cast your vote and see who the readers of this site vote for as their player of the year (we find it helps if you hum the theme tune from the great escape while you are thinking about it!)
