And if those reports are right it will catapult the deal into the Top 15 transfers of all time involving a British club and far eclipse the money that we received from Manchester City for Wilfried Bony when he left a few years back.
The Express is claiming this morning that the two sides have agreed a deal which will start a flurry of transfer activity involving the Swans who have reportedly lined up several players to move for if/when the deal with the Toffees is completed.
Sigurdsson has been a transfer target for Everton going back to the last couple of transfer windows and that interest intensified after a superb season for the Icelandic midfielder last season, a major reason how we managed to avoid relegation to the Championship.
The Swans rejected reported รยฃ40m deals from both Everton and Leicester but it was reasonably obvious that Sigurdsson has been the Number 1 target for Everton who have splashed some cash this summer in a bid to build on what was an excellent campaign for them last time around.
The key for the Swans will of course be using any money that comes from the deal (assuming the reports are true) to build a stronger squad with the need to replace both goals and assists an obvious one. Links have already been made with several players but we will see how much truth there is with those when the rumours are confirmed.
