The Swans were reported to have made Chadli one of their targets to replace Gylfi Sigurdsson, who scored his first goal for Everton in the Europa League last night.
However, with clubs aware that the Swans were about to come into a large windfall then the price for the winger rose to a level that had many claiming an over valuation, something that the Swans now seem to agree with.
The Daily Mail reports: “Swansea have cooled on a deal for Nacer Chadli after being quoted in excess of รยฃ25million by West Bromwich Albion.
“Paul Clement was keen to take the Belgian international to the Liberty Stadium but has since signed Sam Clucas, who operates in the same area of the pitch.
Chadli’s transfer fee and wages are thought to be difficult for Swansea to finance and West Brom are reluctant to let the forward go without first finding a replacement.”
Chadli has not featured in West Brom’s Premier League campaign to date but did play against Accrington in the Carabao Cup this week.
