It is being reported in today’s Sunday papers that Steve Cooper’s agent was spotted in the directors box at Selhurst Park in midweek when Crystal Palace hosted Arsenal in Roy Hodgson’s last game in charge at the club.

Cooper had been instilled as the favourite to take over from Hodgson at the end of the season although he insisted all week that his focus was completely on Swansea and the play offs, a focus that will need to continue for another week after he guided us  to the play off final at Wembley next Saturday.

Journalist Alan Nixon (one of the few people who has ever elected to block us on Twitter) reports in today’s Sun that Cooper’s agent was spotted in the directors box at Selhurst Park which will increase the intensity of the rumours that this move could happen.

The paper also reports that Palace could pay up the compensation fee if they are convinced about Cooper who now seems to be the favourite for the job with betting company Boyle Sports saying “the momentum is gathering behind Cooper, who has guided Swansea into the Championship play-offs for two seasons in succession.”
