Reports surfacing in Belgium are suggesting that the Swans have tabled a €6m bid for Leuven striker Thomas Henry as their search for what seems to be a number one target intensifies.

The report does say that the fee has yet to be agreed by the club and also suggests that the player himself would prefer to test himself at a higher level but also adds that a move to the Championship could interest him (which tells you just how concrete the information in the article probably is.

The exact fee is quoted as being £5m which equates to €5.82m and would shatter the transfer record received by the club (this currently stands at €815k)

Henry scored 21 goals and also provided 7 assists last season, while the OHL season was already over in mid-April after it missed the playoffs and whilst they would like to keep hold of their prized asset there is an acceptance within the club that this could be difficult, if not impossible.

Coach Marc Brys is also already preparing for a future without his French top scorer. “Henry is ready for something different”, Brys realizes. ”The will to fulfill its ambitions and at least test its worth at a higher level. He’s 26, it’s a bit now or never for him. I call it a healthy ambition. Nothing against it,

“There is no one in this club who thinks that we absolutely have to sell Thomas to make money with it,” emphasizes Brys. “As a club, together with King Power, we have no ambition at all to sell players and earn big money.”
