Dobbie moves into coaching following Queen of South departure

We have said it before and we will say it again, Stephen Dobbie was a much underrated player during his time at Swansea and we should always remember his goals in two of the most important games the club has ever played.

Dobbie was a man on target in both our play off semi final and final in 2011 and for that alone he will always have a place in Swansea City folklore and will always find that there is a welcome at the Liberty Stadium for a hugely popular person.

So it is with that in mind that we have always looked at his career with interest after his departure from the Swans and of course last season saw him leave Queen of the South after his spells there that saw him rightly attached to the word legend with more than 150 goals for the team.

Dobbie will now take the next steps in his football career as he has joined National League North side AFC Fylde as a player but also working as an academy coach

AFC Fylde manager Jim Bentley said: โ€œStephen has had a fantastic career and from what we have seen and the checks we have made, he still has plenty to offer on the field of play. He has a desire to go into coaching when his playing days are finished.

โ€œWe can help him with that transition by welcoming him into our academy set up as a coach. Heโ€™s local, has vast experience in the game and he will be very valuable to our club not just within the first team set up but also in his new role in helping our young players develop.ย Iโ€™m sure he will be a big success on and off the pitch for AFC Fylde.โ€

Good luck Stephen.
