Gibbs-White: Wolves midfielder is back on Swans radar

Now this one is an interesting rumour as it is suggested that the Swans are watching very closely events at Molineux concerning one of last season’s loan signings and someone known very well by Steve Cooper in Morgan Gibbs-White.

Gibbs-White was one of the great hopes for last season before missing a period of games through injury and then being recalled by Wolves as soon as he regained fitness.ย  He went onto play 13 games for Wolves next season but it is believed that his future at the Premier League club is not clear particularly following their managerial change in the summer.

The Swans are believed to have made a tentative enquiry about the availability of Gibbs-White with new manager Bruno Lage clearly known to the Swans following his time as assistant manager to Carlos Carvahal in our last season in the Premier League.

Lage is understood to be weighing up his options as his team returns to pre-season training and a decision on who will play a key part in his squad this season is not expected until at least the end of this month although he has not ruled out the possibility of Gibbs-White going out on loan.

Gibbs-White made an immediate impact on loan with the Swans last season when he scored the winner on the opening day at Preston and went onto make just 6 appearances before being recalled at the start of January.ย  ย The Swans turned their attentions to Conor Hourihane as a replacement for MGW but he never had the impact the Wolves player was expected to have and returned to Aston Villa at the end of last season.

If we were able to capture Morgan for another season then it would be a fantastic capture for the Swans and add much creativity and movement to a midfield that was incredibly static without him in it.
