Bidwell to Middlesbrough? Lowe in from Sheffield United?

As the transfer window nears its conclusion in a couple of weeks time there are always some left field reports that take you by surprise and give a different perspective on how things may pan out.

This morning’s news that Jake Bidwell is being linked with a move, reported to be at ยฃ2.5m, to Middlesbrough is one of those left field moments and could change hugely the way that the window pans out for the Swans with everyone having been expecting a departure this summer.

That departure was said to always be Matt Grimes or Connor Roberts but both could now stay with both Jamal Lowe and now Bidwell linked with a move away this week.

The one for Bidwell is probably the most surprising of those links and – if reports are to be believed – could depend on us securing Max Lowe from Sheffield United.ย  The move for Lowe is supposedly being held up by the imminent arrival of his second child.

The reports – admittedly in the Sun – say that Bidwell is a target for Neil Warnock and Middlesbrough although it is suggested that they may need to pay up around ยฃ2.5 for the services of the wing back.ย  The fee seems incredibly high for a player of Bidwell’s nature – and that isn’t critical of the player itself – but time will tell what happens next

The Swans are known to being needing to sell to bring in new replacements and with Russell Martin wanting to stamp his own authority on the squad the departure of Bidwell seems a logical one and, if these reports have substance, then one we can see happening.
