“It’s a tough away game we are preparing for”- Cooper on how he is setting up Nottingham Forest

Steve Cooper will return to the Swansea.com stadium on Saturday with his Nottingham Forest team looking to take away the three points and take advantage of what has become a little bit of stuttering form for Russell Martin’s side.

The Swans have won just one of their last five league games with three defeats in those games as the promising form of October and early November has made way for a slip back down the table meaning that there is starting to feel a degree of pressure to stop that run of results.

Cooper of course returns just four months after he departed the club and three months after he replaced Chris Hughton at a Forest side that were bottom of the table when he arrived.

“I’m looking forward to the game and I’m just focused on that. Championship games are ones you have to prepare for in different ways and we are treating this no differently,” Cooper told the official Forest website.

“It’s an away game, a tough game like all these Championship games are and my mindset is just on the normal process of working with the players here and trying to be as best prepared as we can be.”

“They are like a lot of the Championship teams, it’s very tight and it’s very competitive. You see the results and everybody can win, lose or draw any game.

“I obviously know a lot of the players and I enjoyed working with them. Like every team, it changes from year to year but there’s still a good number there who are really good guys and good players.

“Championship games are what they are, you have to go in there really focused on yourself and try and take your game to it, which is what we are trying to both home and away.”
