Fulham defender in Swansea City link

Talksport journalist Alex Crook has linked the Swans with a move for another defender – this time the name of Cyrus Christie is suggested as a potential transfer target for the Swans.

It is turning into one of the busiest windows in some time for us with speculation around a host of players coming through various media outlets and yet so far it is only Andy Fisher who has made the journey to sign on at the Swansea.com stadium.

In response to his original tweet (below) Alex also said that he believed the deal to be close which could potentially even mean that any move to be completed by the weekend?

29 year old Christie is a Republic of Ireland international previously having played for Coventry, Derby and Middlesbrough and spent last season on loan at Nottingham Forest.ย  He has 29 caps to his name.

Speaking in an interview with the Evening Standard (well worth a read and linked to here) last month he pretty much admitted his time with Fulham was likely to be over after finding himself on the sidelines for some time.

The Irishmanย said: โ€œMentally, I canโ€™t let it break me down.

โ€œI always thought Iโ€™d be given an opportunity but Iโ€™ve found it hard to come by.

โ€œThe boys are doing fantastic this season.

โ€œThe managerโ€™s made a decision โ€“ and thatโ€™s football. You learn that. You have to get on with it.

โ€œI have to look for a new chapter, get back to playing football and be the best version of myself as a footballer. I have lost that at Fulham.โ€

A very interesting link this one and given the response of Alex Crook one that could well come to fruition.
