Will Swansea go Fish at MK Dons again?

Following the acquisition of Andy Fisher from Russell Martin’s former club yesterday, the question remains: is that the end of the transfer business from MK Dons or the first of a number to arrive?

Matt O’Riley, Scott Twine and Harry Darling have all been linked in the media with moves over the Severn Bridge to Swansea, having enjoyed reasonable success under Martin during his tenure at Stadium MK.

O’Riley and Twine would undoubtedly add some attacking flair to a midfield at times sadly lacking in that department, while Darling would come into a flooded centre back department; what it has in quantity isn’t supported by quality.

Goalkeeper Fisher joins today’s acquisition of Cyrus Christie into a squad which has seen Liam Cullen, Morgan Whittaker and Steven Benda leave on loan deals already this window. With further departures mooted/suggested for the likes of Yan Dhanda, Jay Fulton and Jake Bidwell, it seems apparent that the Swans are eagerly anticipating money in before splashing any out.

Some may question the quality of those being touted – myself at times included – but the only thing we can positively say is that our summer window saw some of the best transfer business seen at the Swansea.com in many a year. Ntcham, Piroe, Paterson and Downes will hopefully be a big part of Martin’s plans for the years to come after very encouraging starts.

There will undoubtedly be news in the coming days; hopefully it’ll be positive, whether it’s inbound from MK Dons, Chelsea or TNS!
