As Swans move for Wolf, O’Riley closes in on Celtic move

It was suggested there would be one final twist in the tale and that appears to have come today with news that Celtic are closing in on MK Dons highly rated midfielder Matt O’Riley who looks set to move North of the border for the reported ยฃ1.5m fee that was suggested a few days back.

It’s quite ironic as the Glasgow side were linked with a move for Hannes Wolf who the Swans are set to sign on loan but are now heading for O’Riley who has been highly courtes by the Swans in this transfer window.

However, as suggested the other day, the fee was always likely to be a stumbling block for the Swans at ยฃ1.5m which is believed to have been a release clause and one that had to be triggered for the Dons to consider the sale of one of their prized assets.

Celtic it now seems have triggered that clause and O’Riley is set for talks with them over a move leaving MK Dons down one more player but with cash in the bank to really push on with their challenge for the League one play off places.

It is distinctly possible though that they will still need a further defender with the Swans still keen on a move for Harry Darling to add to their defence although this is seemingly less likely as well with MK Dons holding out for a higher price then maybe we have available.

But finally we can now close off the O’Riley to Swansea stories and wait for the Wolf to arrive in Swansea!
