So come on Obafemi, score some goals and perfect those post match interviews!

Michael Obafemi will have Stoke City in his sights tonight as he hopes to build on his first goal at the Swansea.com stadium on Saturday – a goal that was enough to secure all three points against promotion chasing Blackburn Rovers.

Obafemi’s header from a 16th minute Jamie Paterson cross proved to be the decisive moment of the game for the Swans who had to turn to a backs to the wall performance in the second half to secure all the points after Ryan Manning was sent off early in the second half.

It was a massive relief for the striker, signed in the summer from Southampton, who finally got his name on the scoresheet in front of a home Swansea crowd- his only other goal coming in a 2-1 defeat at Birmingham at the end of October.

Obafemi has found himself with some more game time in recent weeks, seemingly having put behind him what appears to be a stuttering start to his Swansea career and he will now be looking to push on from the match winner at Blackburn and where better to start than the proverbial ‘cold Tuesday night in Stoke’.

โ€œIt felt amazing to get that first goal in front of the home fans, they have been so welcoming to me and I am so glad I could repay them,โ€ he told the club’s Official website.

โ€œIt just makes me even hungrier to score more goals, it felt just amazing and I need to get that feeling back on a regular basis now and show what I can do.

โ€œYou can see how much it meant to us and to the fans by the celebrations at the final whistle, we need it to be onwards and upwards from here.

โ€œWe will go into Tuesday looking to get a good result and start a good run.โ€

Obafemi’s goal was not the only thing he will be remembered for though after Saturday as his attempts at a post match interview soon went viral.ย  ย Being interviewed by Sophie Davis from the club’s media team, the joking side of Obafemi, Paterson and the squad came through with a series of bloopers where Obafemi struggled to keep a straight face.

The clip – released by the club – went pretty viral with multiple sports reporting agencies highlighting it including Sky Sports and the Mirror amongst others.ย  ย If anyone was in any doubt as to the team spirit within the camp then the video highlights the strength in that.

Obafemi is expected to play a part again this evening against Stoke where the Swans will look to avenge that 3-1 defeat in SA1 back in August.
