Cabango out until pre season

Ben Cabango will miss the Swans’ last two games of the season and Wales’ summer fixtures after it was confirmed that he ruptured an ankle ligament.

The centre half was forced off after a rather nasty challenge from Jamal Lowe which coincided with the Swans losing their three goal lead to draw as he was replaced by Korey Smith.

Russell Martin confirmed today that the injury he suffered means he is unlikely to be fit until the first few weeks of pre-season.

Martin said ahead of this weekend’s trip to Nottingham Forest: “Unfortunately, Ben is done for the season.”

โ€œHe had a scan on Wednesday and it is not good news for us, or for Wales. He is out for the summer.

โ€œHe will be back with us for pre-season, although he might miss the first week or two.

โ€œHe will go to see a specialist on Tuesday and it is highly unlikely he will be going away with Wales.

โ€œItโ€™s an ankle injury and I donโ€™t know how he played on with the extent of the injury.

โ€œHe has been outstanding and improved so much and was in a great place.

โ€œIt will be tough for him to miss out this summer because of what is at stake for Wales.

โ€œItโ€™s a blow for him, for us and for Wales, but he has to make sure he rests and recuperates and comes back fit and firing.โ€
