Is there one more twist in the tale?

On the face of it, you would almost assume that there is little hope of the Swans reaching the play offs this week but is there to be one more twist in the tale that could yet see the Swans leapfrog Cardiff into the play off positions?

A glance at the league table this morning would suggest that Hull have nothing to play for.ย  Bar the league tables are not yet reflecting a points deduction for Wigan and that should mean that if Hull win and both Luton and Wigan lose then they could just perform a version of the great escape and retain their Championship status.ย  Or to put that one even more simply, the only chance Hull have of retaining their Championship status is to win on Wednesday night, they need to worry about Luton and Wigan, we don’t.

This is the last day of the season and stranger things have happened and we know all to well what it is like to go into a final day with much to play for.ย  And the expectation will very much be on Cardiff to deliver which can provide a unique kind of pressure with that seemingly off us a little as most seem to have written off our chances of coming through and ending up in the Top 6.

Indeed an early goal for the Swans – the same as maybe we managed last Wednesday at Forest will only serve to add the pressure on Cardiff who will know that a single slip up could cost them.ย  Whilst for the Swans we will be hoping to hear of an early goal from Hull to boost our own chances.

When when were in the sixth minute of added time I asked for the scores. of the teams around us Obviously now it is a straight shoot-out between us and the enemies up the road.

“Hull will need to win the game to have any chance of staying up, so we will have to be sure we remain focused as we have been. – Neil Harris

We’ve just got to take care of our business and try to win at Reading,” he said.

I said before the Bristol City game, all we can do is focus on getting six points from the two games. – Steve Cooper

Middlesbrough’s late goal on Saturday night made the position much clearer as it kept it to a simple Swansea need to win and hope Cardiff lose, goal difference and goals scored can now no longer come into it.

I do think there is every chance of there being at least one stage on Wednesday night where we will be in the play off positions, for our sakes we can only hope that it is right at the final whistle in both games.ย  Everyone deserves to dream just for a little while?
