So, this is it.ย 353 days since we opened the season at home with a 2-1 win over Hull, the Swans will close a 46 game season at Reading knowing that nothing less than a win will do as we go in search of that elusive play off place.
Of course we know that a win may not be enough because a point for both Cardiff and Nottingham Forest could just mean that anything we do will be in vain but as long as there is hope we have to believe that the outcome we all desire will be achieved.
The one thing we have to ensure this evening is that we end the night with no regrets.ย We cannot afford to come away off the back of a draw or a defeat and then find out that a win would have been enough.ย We have to secure the three points for ourselves and then hope that it proves to be enough and Hull do us a favour.
With the EFL confirming that Wigan will lose their 12 points this season, Hull go into their clash at Cardiff with very much everything to play for.ย Like us they are reliant very much on results elsewhere but they also know that three points will give them a real chance of survival and that has to be a positive for us to cling to.
We have just got to win, we said before Bristol City we had to get six points,โ he said.
We have got three, and there are three to go and thatโs what we aim for.
We can only take care of what we can, and we need things to go our way elsewhere.
But if we donโt do our side of it, nothing good will happen. – Steve Cooper
A season end on a Wednesday evening in July is not what any of us expected last August when this season kicked off but similarly we have to be glad that we are going into the game with something to play for.ย Football has a habit of throwing out the unexpected and whilst we are clear favourites to be the team that misses out on the end of season play off party much stranger things have happened in football over the past few years.
And whilst it is not completely win or bust as it could be win and bust, it is win at all costs tomorrow or it’s a guarantee that Championship football is our fate for next season.
