A report surfaced yesterday that the Swans, along with Sunderland and Reading are looking at Stoke City defender Morgan Fox with enquiries already having been made according to Football League World.
The report suggests that all three clubs have already been in touch with the Potteries club over a possible move although as we know the Swans are very much in a position where they have to move people on before new people can come in.
Fox is described by the website as “a natural left-back, who is also comfortable with playing on the left-hand side of a back three, with all three of the aforementioned clubs that have enquired about his availability using that particular system in recent weeks.”
The Swans we know are in search of some players who can play the wing back roles but any move for us would have to be on the backdrop of someone moving on, of which we know there are several within the club that we would like to see depart.
The 28-year-old has 199 matches of second tier experience to his name over the years for Charlton Athletic, Sheffield Wednesday and the Potters, but he has only played 30 times for Stoke in the last two years in the league.
Given the position regards our transfer stance this summer you would have to assume that the reported interest could be real but also being expanded by agent talk from someone trying to increase the chances of a move for their client in this window.ย Not unusual but distinctly possible this time around.
We watch to see but the only way this could ever get close is if we saw someone leave.
