QPR Boss: “Cabango’s a lucky boy”

QPR manager Michael Beale says Ben Cabango was a “lucky boy” not to see a red card for a first minute challenge on Chris Willock.

The Welsh centre half dragged back the Rangers midfielder as he was bearing down on goal but the referee didn’t deem it to be denying a goalscoring opportunity.

That was within the first 30 seconds and it would have undoubtedly have been a different game had Cabango seen red for his second consecutive match.

He calmed down thereafter as Swansea saw out a 1-0 win thanks to Joel Piroe who had earlier seen his spot kick saved by Seny Dieng in the QPR goal.

It’s the Swans first home win in eight and moves them up to 17th.

Beale said post match: “Cabango’s a lucky boy. He’s definitely made a mistake and pulled him back.

“Chris has been honest because, I think, if he falls over he [Cabango] has gone.

“He didn’t and we shouldn’t be asking a player to fall over because we don’t like that in our game.

“I’m not going to be that type of manager that sits here and canes the referee.

“But that’s a tough call and, if it’s at the other end, then Russell [Martin] is saying the same.”

  1. Why are we being subjected to playing 3 matches per week, nobody needs 24/7 football as much as we love our team.

Come on the Football Authority, you are running this game into the ground, thin out the number of teams in each division and have 5 divisions.

Also sharpen up your act with VAR being available the Referees are not up to seeing 360 vision, nobody is, do something, your killing the game.
