Out To End The Huddersfield Hoodoo

And that point came as the Swans threw away a two goal advantage in front of the Sky cameras at the Liberty Stadium as they fell from grace two years ago to scrape into the play offs.

And Huddersfield are the only side to defeat the Swans in the last five months in the league and the Swans will also be out to avenge that result back in November when they take the field at the Galpharm Stadium this afternoon.  But it is not revenge reasons that spur Roberto on, more making another mark in his short managerial career – which reaches 45 league games this afternoon.

Speaking to the Western Mail on the eve of the game, Roberto said “Huddersfield has always been a difficult game in our history, our record there is poor, sometimes you think is it because we don’t perform on the day or they raise their game.

“You always get that with bogey teams. Everyone is aware of places where you always get something or where you have to work hard to get something. But that is away from the game itself.

“They will feel they are capable of getting into the play-offs,” said Martinez. “There were huge expectations on them at the start of the season and they have got huge experience when you look around their squad – Booth, Jevons, Beckett, Sinclair and now Page.

“They know how to win games and are one of those teams that always rise to the big games in League One. They showed at the Liberty Stadium how well-organised they can be and how difficult they are to play against.”
