Bodde Going Nowhere Insists Roberto

Rumours have surfaced in the last few weeks that the Dutch midfielder was homesick and was likely to move on in the summer with a move back to Holland the only seeming possibility.

But the Swans boss has dismissed that as pure speculation and says you only need to see Ferrie's demeanour on the pitch to realise how much he is enjoying his spell at the Liberty.

Bodde has been missing the last few weeks of the season through injury but has been an influential part of the Swansea side that has swept their way to the League One title and he has been well amongst the goals in the process.  The only blot on his copy book has been red cards against Leeds and Doncaster but that is a small price to pay for his influence on the field.

And his manager believes there is little doubt that he will ply his trade in the Championship for the Swans next season.  Speaking in tonight's Evening Post, Roberto said "You see Ferrie on the pitch and I think you can draw your own conclusions from the way he performs there

"Ferrie has adapted to the British game really well and he is enjoying his football.

"I think he needs another challenge next season – but he will get that with us.

"I don't think another season in League One would have been healthy for Ferrie. He needs the challenge of the Championship and he is looking forward to it."

Martinez is aware of the Bodde speculation, but added: "He is the kind of player who will always attract rumours.

"I look at Ferrie in training and on the pitch and he transmits great happiness.

"He is a winner and a great professional and Swansea City can be very happy with his feelings.

"If he's only 99 per cent fit, he won't be involved.

"He's desperate to play and he's worked really hard to try to get back before the end of the season, but I'll be happy for him to have a good break and make sure he comes back with no problems in pre-season.
