Football action returned to the Swansea.com Stadium yesterday when Swansea City Ladies were held to a 1-1 draw by Cardiff City women in an entertaining game.

1376 supporters attended the game as the Ladies played at the home of the Swans for the second time this season but could not secure all the points in what proved to be an entertaining encounter.

Katy Hosford open the scoring for the Swans early in the second half when she was played though by Stacey John-Davis. However, hopes of beating the current league leaders were taken away when Phoebie Poole equalised with twenty minutes to go and both sides had to settle for a point.

Swansea City coach Ceri Phillips felt that his side had done enough to secure all three points but was pleased that the performance had been good for the crowd in attendance

โ€œItโ€™s another brilliant occasion, itโ€™s brilliant that the girls could get out there in the stadium again. For us to draw another good crowd is brilliant,โ€ said Phillips on the club’s official site.

โ€œI think in terms of the neutral, it was an outstanding game for people to watch, it was end-to-end and both teams were battling to be in the ascendency.

โ€œFrom our perspective we controlled the game, without the ball I think we frustrated Cardiff at times, and we had our chances as well, although I would have liked to see us maybe squeeze a bit higher up the pitch.

โ€œOn the whole it was a really good game to watch, it was a good one for everyone to be involved in and hopefully we put on a performance for the crowd and entertained everyone who came to watch.
