Swans Close To Club Record For Williams

Williams spent the last couple of months of the season on loan at the Liberty but it was very much a bit part act as he watched his new team mates secure the League One title.

And amid speculation that there was a last minute hitch which could prevent the transfer going ahead, the Swans have moved to quash such rumours by saying that they are just about ready to complete the deal.

And with £350,000 the reported transfer fee it will equal a club record that was set – incredibly – back in 1981 when Colin Irwin arrived from Liverpool.

It's just a matter of sitting down with Ashley and getting the contract signed," said Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins. "We're confident that will be done in the near future."
