Will Whittaker play? And can Swans beat a play off rival?

Swansea City head to West London to play QPR this afternoon looking to make it three wins out of four in the Championship.

Rangers will prove a tough test under new manager Neil Critchley having seen Michael Beale depart for Glasgow Rangers a short while ago.

The big question for Swans fans is will we see Morgan Whittaker on the pitch at some point or is it just a ploy to make Beale and Co stand up and pay what we think he is worth?

Kick off is at 3pm and Russell Martin’s team will be backed by near 2500 away fans for the trip along the M4 to London.

Team News

It’s unlikely that any of the changes the manager made for the FA Cup loss against Bristol City in midweek will have convinced enough to keep a starting place this afternoon.

That means that a similar line up to the one at Sunderland should be on the cards unless there are any fresh injury concerns that become apparent today.

Whittaker, if indeed does come on is likely to do so from the bench one would imagine. Although it would make a significant statement if Martin did decide to start him.

Rangers came back from 2 down to draw at Reading and captain Stefan Johansen could return to the team after absence through injury.

Defender Leon Balogun is still sidelined but QPR otherwise have full availability for today’s game.

Likely team:

Benda

Latibeaudiere – Darling – Cabango – Manning

Fulton – Grimes – Allen

Piroe – Cullen – Cooper

Views of the Managers:

Russell Martin: “QPR have a really good squad, especially at the top end of the pitch. It will be a tough game.

“We are taking a lot of supporters and it will be a good atmosphere at a tight ground.

“We feel like we’re in a good place. There have been some really good performances and results recently.

Neil Critchley: “Swansea’s performance against Watford (won 4-0 recently) shows you what they are capable of. They are an outstanding football team in the way that they play the game and they provide you with a unique challenge in this division.

“They have some top-quality players and I am sure Russell (Martin), like myself, would like to be more consistent to be competing at the top end of this division.

Planet Swans prediction:
