How and which way were the Hollins out lobby wrong last season ?
Nobody is wrong, after all it’s about opinions, many would say the people who highlight things like Hollins and McClure or whatever are the reason why you and others have the opportunity to comment.
Folk like Gary Martin on here deserve far more praise than they get. Would you prefer a total lack of news flow or forums like the list, Gary’s site and other outlets ? That is the question.
I think that Hollins should be allowed to get it right this year, hence no real grumblings from me ( I have only witnessed 5 games and 1 goal from us )
But of course he could get the bullet after we lose at Bournemouth on Saturday ( cue – massive win ) The problems are with the players, and their reluctance to play for the man, and of course having a number two in Curt who is not a confrontational person.
The players have little to worry about, and some have secured massive contracts ( Bound, Price and Jenkins ). So they are under no pressure.
There are players like Roger, Steve Jones, Watkin and Thomas who are yet to be offered decent rates of pay which again affects them. It’s a double edged sword.
McClure will give Hollins all the time he needs, he requires a man like Hollins to front the floatation ( if it ever happens ). Business wise having him there is good for Mcclure, of course if we continue to lose and get gates of 4,000 it may sway him to sack him.
On this point, Hollins gets 20% of his contract if he is sacked because of poor performance. That’s a fact. So he will not receive the total amount of the remainder of his contract is asked to leave.
My bet is an agreement will be made between him and McClure thus saving all the legal hassle. Hollins payed off with ยฃ100,000 by next week ?
My bet is it will happen if we lose the next three games, maybe not one, very similar to last season when Hollins was 90 minutes from the push before we beat Chester 1-0 in December.
