Wood called up to England U21s and Cullen for Wales

Nathan Wood has received a call up to the England U-21 squad after his breakthrough campaign at Swansea City.

Wood has taken the place of Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite for the fixtures against France and Croatia later this month.

It’s a big step for the 20 year old who had a failed loan spell at Hibernian last season but clearly his regular football in SA1 has caught the eye of Lee Carsley.

Meanwhile Liam Cullen has been called up along with Mark Harris from Cardiff City for Wales duty after several injury withdrawals in recent days.

Wayne Hennessey has pulled our and Brennan Johnson requires further assessment ahead of Wales’ game against Croatia for the first of the European qualifiers.

Good luck to both Cullen and Wood along with Ollie Cooper and Ben Cabango whilst away from the club.
