Warnock expects Cardiff to get better and “batter” Swansea

Good old Neil Warnock is never far away from controversy and was hoping for a more hostile reaction at the Swansea.com Stadium yesterday.

The former Cardiff manager was expecting a reaction from the home faithful but was left disappointed he didn’t get it. I guess the fans’ view is that at mid to late 70’s he’s a little less relevant in his managerial career than he was in his pomp?

Indeed he still holds more feeling towards us than we do him. Largely I think the view from the fans is that he’s a pretty comedic character and characters are something that we seem to lack in football these days.

None more so than when Warnock said at the end of his interview that it won’t be long until Cardiff City get a good team and give the Swans a battering.

He told the media post match: “We didn’t get beat by them today, we just had little things against them. But I’ve no complaints today, they took their chance…well, Hoggy helped them out like, but they didn’t break us down.

“I didn’t think Cardiff played bad earlier, Reading got a point against Burnley. We obviously just played them at the wrong time didn’t we?

“Everyone is playing for something and that’s the kind of challenge I thrive on.

“I was disappointed I didn’t hear anything from their fans. I asked, have I done something wrong, they’re not having a go at me?!

“I had one of the best times of my life at Cardiff with a great chairman. To get automatic promotion was something special. I heard one or two cheers in the Swansea dressing room before the game…but don’t forget, in football what goes around comes around. It’ll only be a matter of time before Cardiff get a good team together and batter them.

“I hope Cardiff, ourselves and Rotherham survive, so you know who I want to go down”

I suppose age doesn’t always come with wisdom, Neil? And you never know, with those words Cardiff may have you back in the summer!

Can the Swans secure an agreement for second loan with Brighton?

There is little doubt that Carl Rushworth was one of the highlights of a pretty dismal season in SA1.ย  ย Clean sheets and a host of great saves were more than enough to give the on-loan goalkeeper a triple win in last week’s awards dinner but with the season is now…

Swansea City 0-1 Millwall – limp Swans end with a whimper

Swansea limped over the line at the end of the season as a dogged Millwall side came away with a 1-0 win on a sunny afternoon in South Wales. The Swans never really got up to speed in a below par performance that generally summed up their season; big chance…
