Full Back David Arranz appears to be the first of the Swansea triallists to be signed after Canberra Cosmos reported that Swansea had requested international clearance for him.
Arranz was used in a wing-back role in Swansea’s 3-0 win at Aberystwyth on Wednesday night and impressed the watching Roger Freestone who described him as “a quality player who could do a very good job for us”
Arranz is seen as the natural replacement for Steve Jones who rejected the Swans offer of a contract last season and is now back at former club Cheltenham.
Having used him as a wing back in a five man defence, it remains to be seen if Hollins will continue this ploy during the coming season with Bound, Smith and O’Leary the natural choices in a fully fit and available squad to take the three central defending partnerships.
