Oh Good He’s Back!

Saturday was supposed to be the first game that Petty was attending since shaking the club to it’s foundations over a fortnight ago but despite some powerful zoom lenses, he wasn’t picked out in the director’s box. But we have had it confirmed that he was at Luton and not in the directors box.

Of course, it follows that if Mr Petty was at Luton then he was going to put in an appearance at the Vetch sooner or later and that happened this morning when he pulled up in his gold volkswagen. And straight away he was carrying on where he left off by informing Jason Smith, fresh back from injury that he can leave on a free transfer. Seems like nothing has changed since he was gone.

There now follows the mystery which is becoming clearer by every minute he stays in Swansea. Why is he here? You cannot call it asset stripping when you give the assets away but it all comes back to what we said two weeks ago. A quick buck? The more dramatic the exits from the club, the increased chance of someone coming in and offering cash for him to leave and quick. What bets on Roger Freestone and Matthew Bound being the next targets?

Now he is here, it is time to turn up the pressure. Sod the boycotts, turn up in numbers and make the Vetch hostile. The news that some at Luton were prepared to give him a chance is worrying for most Swansea fans and now it needs to be made very clear indeed that these are in a very small minority.

Keep it legal but make it hostile is my views
