Mumford To Merthyr

Colin Addison was busy in the player market again today but failed to get anybody to add to his squad, instead sending Andrew Mumford to Merthyr for a month’s loan.

Mumford who has been on the bench in recent weeks impressed Martyr’s manager John Lewis in the midweek friendly at Hereford and will go straight into their side for tomorrow’s game with Bath.

Addison told the official site “We’ve got a big squad, and Andy wasn’t going to be involved this weekend, and he needs to be playing games. We want him to improve his fitness, and by playing six games in the next month, we should certainly see an improvement.”

Meanwhile Addison’s hopes of bringing Steve Brodie in from Scarborough seem to have ended after the conference side stated that they wanted Brodie to stay at the club for their game this evening. Addison needed to complete the move today if Brodie was to be eligible for the FA Cup tie with QPR next weekend but Addison is still hopeful that something can be completed next week.
