Home > Story Index >Play-Off Hopes Ended

Tuesday’s defeat at Shrewsbury put pay to any lingering hopes that people may have had of us reaching the play-offs this season. We are now 26 points away from what I predict we will need for the play-offs with only a further 24 points available to play for.
The top 7 remains unchanged team wise at the moment with Plymouth Argyle reaching the predicted play off target with their midweek win and Luton securing at minimum a play-off position. There are now only 10 sides who I believe can actually achieve automatic promotion and I expect at least three of these to drop out of that race on Saturday due to the unlikely string of results that they will need to put together.
For the record, the promotion target at the moment is 80 points and the play-off target 72. Here are the tables.
