Swans making move for Aberdeen midfielder?

As transfer deadline day enters it’s last few hours there are reports this evening that both Cardiff City and Swansea City have made a move for Aberdeen midfielder Connor Barron.

The same report suggests that the deal may not be completed tonight but could very much be one for the future with the player out of contract this summer.

Football League World reports that both clubs “have lodged offers for the youngster, and it remains to be seen whether an agreement can be reached before the deadline.”

The 21-year old has represented Scotland at youth levels and has more than 50 appearances for Aberdeen under his belt, 13 of which have been this season in the Scottish Premiership and a further 7 in Europe.

The Swans, of course, have recently appointed former Aberdeen academy director Gavin Levey into their own set up and Levey will be well aware of the potential of Barron.

It remains to be seen if this deal will complete before the deadline comes but it remains a possibility and seems to be within the Swans price range.

This could be a late one.

Don't ask for specifics, supposedly a fee has been agreed and it's all down to wages.
Trying to shift one or 2 fringe/youngsters out on loan.

It's a permanent hence an agreed fee.

Been watching the Swans since the very late 1970s and running the Planet Swans website (in all its current and previous guises since the summer of 2001 As it stood JackArmy.net was right at the forefront of some of the activity against Tony Petty back in 2001, breaking many of the stories of the day as fans stood against the actions where the local media failed. Was involved with the Swans Supporters Trust from 2005, for the large part as Chairman before standing down in the summer of 2020.
