Swansea City v Leeds United: Farke aware of Swansea threat as James returns to squad

Daniel Farke is a manager who should be high on confidence.ย  ย He will arrive in SA1 this evening with his Leeds United team on the back of six consecutive league wins in 2024 and with a real chance of steering his charges back to the Premier League at the first time of asking,

Just a solitary point separates them from second placed Southampton going into the midweek fixtures and pushing hard for that immediate return which was his aim when he was appointed as Leeds manager back in July.

Farke will have four ex Swans to choose from after he confirmed that Daniel James was back in the squad having missed the last couple of weeks through injury.ย  ย It is likely though that he will start on the bench alongside Joel Piroe although there could be a first Leeds start for Connor Roberts who could take a place in a defence that will also include Joe Rodon on his return to SA1.

Despite their excellent form the Leeds manager is very wary of the threat possessed by the Swans particularly after Luke Williams got his first win as Swans boss on Saturday away at Hull.

โ€œItโ€™s a brave side and a good possession side,โ€ said Farke.

โ€œYou can see clear principles and processes in their game.ย  I’m also not surprised that they are capable to win a really difficult away game.

โ€œSo for me, it was not a surprise because I think it’s a really good side with many experienced players on this level, with many technical players.

โ€œSo I think they are definitely also still one of the best and better possession sides in this in this league.

โ€œItโ€™s a big task and big ask, especially after the win for them, they will go into this next game with confidence.

โ€œIt will be a difficult task and we have to be prepared.โ€
