Injury boosts for Williams as players near returns

Luke Williams was at last sharing some positive news on injuries as he shared the information that four players are nearing their returns to first team action from injury.

Josh Key, Jamal Lowe, Azeen Abdulai and Harrison Ashby are all on the comeback trail from injury and Williams could also soon see Bashir Humphreys back although the official site reports that the weekend trip to Sunderland could be just too soon for each of them.#

Williams time as manager of Swansea has been blighted by injuries with Josh Ginnelly, Sam Parker and Liam Walsh all longer term injury absentees.ย  All of this has led to it being difficult for Williams to field a settled side as he battles against the lack of form and pressure coming from behind them in the league table.

Key, Lowe, Ashby and Humphreys have all been regulars in the team this season and them returning from injury is clearly good news for Williams as it gives him more options within the squad.

โ€œWe have players making good progress,โ€ said Williams.

โ€œJosh has been out on the grass with the conditioning team so he is not a million miles away, Harrison Ashby was out there too but thereโ€™s no fixed date for him.

โ€œAzeem has trained so he could be available, but we need to be careful as we brought him back ahead of schedule last time and now we have a good plan for him. He is athletic and versatile so he would be a welcome addition.

โ€œJamal is doing well, we are communicating with Bournemouth on where he is with his rehab. We think he will be back soon. This game is too close but after that I think he will be back training fully and then be available to us.โ€
