Cusack spent the majority of the day in deep discussions with the Swansea City board as speculation mounted about his future. Once again the press are speculating wildly about his possible successor and ex-Swan Leighton James and former assistant manager Peter Nicholas have reportedly offered their services. Many believe that the result of Wednesday night’s game against bottom club Boston could be the decisive factor in deciding Cusack’s future. A defeat against last year’s conference champions will see the Swans languishing at the bottom of the football league. With only one win from eight games and Cusack seemingly unable to sort out the Swan’s defensive frailties, many believe that the Swansea boss needs help from someone with considerable managerial experience and it maybe just a matter of time before a change in personal is implemented. With talks expected to continue tomorrow, there is a very real possibility that there could be a change in the Vetch Field management set-up before Torquay’s visit on Saturday. |
