10.06.03 – 8.42am – All the housemates are up and ready for the next event in the BJB Olympics. Sumo Wrestling. The housemates decide that in the interests of safety no hands/arms are allowed to be used too force competitors out of the ring. Leigh Dineen makes mincemeat of his opposition on the way to the final including Leon Britton who ends up being pushed eighty feet backwards by a Leigh Belly push. But Leigh is surprisingly easily beaten in the final by John Hollins who has had years of practice in keeping his arms still.
10.06.03 – 10.14am – After an enjoyable breakfast the housemates set to work further on the task of building the model stadium. The housemates are now split into two groups. The designers and the builders. The builders set about erecting some wooden boards around the stadium sight so that no-one else can see what is going on. Peter Owen sets about re-routing the electricity from the house through the diary room as it is presently going straight through where the stadium should be. Nick Rees politely points out that it would have been easier to move the model to the table.
10.06.03 – 11.43am – The designing team consists of John Hollins, Leon Britton, James Thomas, Steve Watkin and John Williams. They are hitting problems on some parts of the stadium. James Thomas is adamant that the stadium should have three goals on the pitch whilst John Williams is convinced that a running track is not necessary. He does concede that a running circle would be better and uses a 10p piece to draw it.
10.06.03 – 1.02pm – The building team are on their seventh tea break of the day. The designing team though are hard at work and have split themselves into two sub-committees – inside and outside of the stadium.
10.06.03 – 1.14pm – After three minutes hard graft the building team take time out for another tea break. Nick Rees rests his cup of tea on Myra’s ‘builders bum’
10.06.03 – 2.43pm – The outside sub committee has split itself into two working groups. The stadium colouring and the stadium name. The inside sub committee have three focus parties – pitch side, office layout and public amenities.
10.06.03 – 4.12pm – The sub committees, working groups and focus parties have a meeting with the builders to discuss the progress of the stadium construction. Naturally this has to be done over tea and the meeting passes on well over agenda and tea allowance. Peter Owen asks in the diary room what the expenses will be in relation to the stadium.
10.06.03 – 7.13pm – Big Jack Brother reminds the housemates that they have less than 24 hours to complete the stadium and that failure to do so will result in failure of the weekly task. The first working group splits themselves into two Champion groups – one to look after the timescales for the stadium and one to make the tea. Nick Rees is seconded from the building side of things to ensure that things run smoothly.
10.06.03 – 8.43pm – The design of the stadium has just about been completed. The housemates have entitled the stadium ‘The Big Jack Brother’ stadium after long discussion – John Hollins came up with the name but only after he had been prompted several times by the rest of the committees.
10.06.03 – 10.18pm – All focus is now on the building of the stadium. With only around 18 hours to complete, time is of the essence. All 10 housemates sit down over a cup of tea to decide the various roles each will play in the construction.
10.06.03 – 11.49pm – The meeting adjourns will all housemates assigned to various pieces of work. They suddenly realise that they have not eaten since breakfast and despite the boards around the model, no work has been done for over 13 hours. Surely this shambles will cost one of them their place in the house??
