Climate change just a hoax though obviously. Poor people of the Ferry. It's piling it down again here today and heavy downpours forecast for after midnight.. I'm glad to be on high ground but fear for those at river level.

I was down there this morning as a relatives house was just starting to flood at 7am and the council couldn’t provide any sandbags. Those poor people, some had sewerage flowing through their houses, absolutely gutted for them.

My first job today was up by Maesteg Hospital, I never got there the top road above Cwmavon was flooded as was the road cymmer side left turn off the hill from Pontrhydyfen on the right hand side through the bends was about 18"'s deep, a driver of a Transit van attempted to turn around and put the front of the van in the ditch at the side of the road, couldn't get near Bryn due to another flood, turned round again headed down to Cwmavon to head to Victoria rd and that was underwater near the junction with the main Cwmavon Rd nightmare start to the day

Dreadful scenes, heart goes out to the families.

Is this something that has happened in Hunter Street before? I know the area and I don’t think there are streams and rivers nearby that would cause this. Has it happened because the storm drains haver overflowed?

There’s a village down our way that was prone to flooding, but NRW installed a lock gate across the road which they closed when there’s a risk of flood. It’s been shut 4 times in the last month, before that I can’t remember when it was last closed. The recent weather has been grim.

I knew the bridges had flooded, but not Hunter Street. Hopefully they’ll get something sorted now, I feel for the people living there.
