Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr
All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.
Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.
It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.
The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.
Are we in any doubt that Vitor knows that the players we introduced in on Tuesday didn’t improve us? He must be an imbecile to think that they would? The whole point is managing the squad and specifically in positions where we don’t have depth of quality. Most players can’t play 3x 90 minutes in...
We really could have done with Stamenic today, even Fulton would have been better than having Cullen and Widell on the pitch as two of our midfield three when trying to see the game out against a Hull team that did carry an attacking threat in fairness.
Franco going off was the right call as...
We’ve sold so many quality players for big money that it’s little wonder we fare worse than most in terms of this stat. It’s not like Aidan Newhouse is coming back to haunt us.
And a more settled squad, if you were seriously expecting cohesion today despite all the transfers in and out, lack of fitness due to injuries and a disrupted pre season and an incomplete squad (including a first choice 9) then no wonder you’re disappointed. As a comparison, a colleague of mine...
Ok so they weren’t amazing but weren’t terrible. Still not ripping up the form book to think that they could beat a team they finished above last season at home?
I think Sheehan is a pragmatist, we were in the game except for a set piece goal that was conceded in typically infuriating fashion, I think he knew we weren’t ready to show our best but anyone expecting to see a sparkling attacking performance today I fear would have been disappointed even if...
So you wouldn’t have wanted him back? I think he would walk into our team now and wanted to come back by all accounts it’s just we couldn’t afford to do it.
Like I said before, Boro away is a tough fixture to introduce a new player, let alone to a new league. So Widell’s non selection is not a reflection on him but the situation i.e. a tough first away game, unless we want to start speculating that it’s for some other reason? Pre season has been...
Killing me 🙂? Not sure what you mean by that. Planning it’s important but you need time to do so, and in fairness the current regime haven’t had a lot of time to do that. I may sound like an apologist for the current regime but I’m not, the jury is out, but it’s too early to judge I’d say.
He would enhance our team this season, ok he’s not Xavi but a very good championship player. And Wrexham lost one game, does that mean LOB is c**p? No chance
Well you are arguing too aren’t you? Do you not have anything better to do either? Yes we need new players, everyone knows that, and the utopia would be that we would have the full squad in place, fit and ready to go but our financial restraints mean that was never going to be the case, and the...
Nonsense 🙂? Such an arrogant answer.
You’re actually contradicting yourself as two players are needed but these are actually key signings that we need, so how can you expect a quality performance without them?
LOB is less p.w. than we have got rid of but that would be one player versus several that have gone. We are up against the wire from PSR unless and/or until we can grow our revenue and while I’d have loved LOB to sign (even more grating that he has gone to Wrexham) but the reality is the deal...
Don’t know how we could even expect a performance based on the factors mentioned, and we are almost always abysmal on the first day of the season unfortunately 😔
Based off 30 minutes in a tough away game where the ball was never getting anywhere near him. I’d prefer to leave it a bit longer before forming such an opinion. Ok he could have impacted the game better with some runs in behind but that’s not his game and unless we are tying to offload him...
