Does anybody on here employ a cleaner or have a relative that does?

I was wondering what the going rate was? Don't want to overpay but equally don't want to underpay someone.

I signed up with a cleaning agency in about 2007, I got out quick once I realised what a complete scam it was. I've paid a relative to clean for me regularly ever since. Although I haven't seen her since March, for obvious reasons. The rate for a relative will depend on the relative :D

£11.50 an hour is what I pay my very efficient cleaner for 4 hours a week, sometimes she comes mob handed and does the house in less than half that time. She is booked solid so I assume that is the norm in this area.

I also paid her for the last few months when I was shielding because she was willing to come but I couldn’t chance it.

So the cost is relative then?
