Runs much better with E5 premium, it's a little more expensive, however, the car is running much better, and from what I hear, you get less mpg with the E10 watered down stuff. Cost me about an extra 1.80 for 20 litres, so not a deal breaker, only use the car back and forth to work and trips on the weekends, the missus has a car, but only does a few K a year, so it's not a problem there either.Cooperman said:I've not paid attention to this. My wife only does about 40 miles a week so the fill up is not so frequent.
When you say that you've gone back to premium, I assume that's a more expensive option but also that it runs better?
What's the premium option, E5 or E10?
50mpg out of a 2.0l, that's not bad. Mines only a wheezy 1.6l. Just noticed that since using the new stuff, it just lost a bit of poke, and wasn't running as sweetly.legoman said:I don't believe I'm getting any performance difference. 2015 BMW 330i auto and on a decent run (e.g.220 miles Swansea to Bromley) I can get close to 50 mpg.

legoman said:It's 2.0l litre engine with 8-speed ZF 8HP automatic gearbox. Always promised myself a BMW when I was about to retire. Had a 318i manual first followed by a 320i auto before getting this one about 4 years ago. Couldn't run to new ever so they were all approved used. I never use BMW dealerships for service. An old mate of mine does all the servicing on them but we always use BMW OEM bits. Had a coolant pipe go on it a few months ago. Local dealer quoted £1450, my mate ordered the part from them and charged me £500 all up. But that's the worst I've had in 10 years of BMW ownership.
I love the cars but I think this will be my last as I'm keen to go electric. Seen some great reviews on the Hyundai Kona and Ioniq 5. My mechanic mate swears by the Korean brands.
