Sir Karl Jenkins CBE is 81 today. Sir Karl is the Patron of Swansea Jazz Festival.
He is from Penclawdd and very proud of his Welsh roots. His classical works are amongst the most played by a living composer. He was also a member of the prog rock band Soft Machine.
