I hope this happens https://nation.cymru/news/swansea-council-considers-plans-for-ferry-service-to-seaside-towns-in-devon-and-cornwall/

It wouldn't be profitable without subsidies , doesn't make it clear if it's a car or foot ferry , either one there wouldn't be enough users especially in the winter
File as yet another proposal that probably won't happen

It wouldn't be profitable in itself, but would benefit tourism in both regions, with a reduced service in the winter. Probably won't happen, but definitely worth investigating.

Depending on the pricing a car ferry could work.

The nostalgia in me says oh yes please. I so fondly remember trips to Ilfracombe. We don't do things for joy rather than profit anymore though, do we? I hope it does return, and work. Given the shit M4/M5 nonsense in summer, who knows. Worth a punt.

This is all about the planning and the marketing. If the backers think that mid November day trips are what the folk of South Wales want then they may be disappointed. However a summer service with a decent timing schedule could prove to be popular.

There’s a lack of information, but my personal view is that this is pie in the sky and that it’s not viable. It’s going to cost a fortune and people will have other things to fiend their money on.
I’d like to see the money for the on more sustainable projects.
