• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

I really miss the Sunday League. Cricket’s gone to s**t.

Oh now you're talking! What price a time machine to the 80's early 90's watching Maynard, Morris, Geoff Holmes, Ontong, Greg Thomas, James, Watkin, Metson, Croft and Barwick at St.Helens😉🍺🏏🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🍻🌞

Viv!!!! How could I forget!!!

The time I got Sir Vivs autograph outside St Helen's dressing room, along with Beefy and Joel Garner's is as still as fresh today as all those years ago!
Peter Denning refused to sign that day, Peter fucking Denning mind!!!

Peter Denning!!! There's a blast from the past!
I'm sure Peter Roebuck refused me.
Both dead now

I had a piss next to Bob Willis at St Helen’s. Nice chat while we were doing it too. We remained staring firmly at the wall in front of us mind as us chaps do while having a wee in a public bog.

Funnily enough, Botham nearly killed me one afternoon coming out of the bogs down by long leg, will forever remember the ball whistling passed my nose and smashing against the white wall, one shake more and I would have ended up taking a blue light taxi up A&E

Absolutely Viv!! I can die a happy man having seen him play for Glammy. Even in cricket’s heyday I was always much more of a footy fan, but Viv remains my all-time favourite sportsman. Just the sheer nonchalance and the ability to turn it on whenever he felt like it - different class. I’m wearing a ‘Master Blaster’ t-shirt as I type! 👍

Loved the Sunday League. A whole day sat enjoying the crick - beers, good crowds and cracking atmosphere and an outcome at the end of it. Fair play to Glammy, they spread the joy too - saw games in Llanelli, Swansea, Neath...even here in Aberystwyth (they also played in Colwyn Bay, Ponty and obvs Cardiff too). T20 doesn’t appeal to me in the slightest, and The Hundred even less.

I’d add Javed Miandad to previous mentions too - excellent player.

Majid Khan had to be one of the most elegant of batsmen ever to grace St. Helens .

Javed Miandad was a bit of a hothead though .

I went to the toilet in the Black Boy when Rogers was here and yes you guessed it, he was in there

I almost ended up living next door to Javed Miandad in Treboeth, he viewed my mates house and put an offer in but it was rejected 🙃

I went to look at a house in Derwen Fawr about 36 years ago and Javed was living there at the time. Not impressed at all. With the house or him. Superb cricketer though.
