Crunch Time For Swans

” That four-game spell starts on Saturday with a trip to fourth-placed Barnet before Swansea hit the road again on Tuesday on their way to mid-table Halifax – a game that must be classed as a banker. Then it’s a Friday night live Sky clash with fifth-placed Northampton at Vetch Field, the form side of the play-off pack, before a long-haul the following week takes them to third-placed Darlington. “It’s going to be a big fortnight,” added Curtis. “But the good thing is we’ve got the points in the bag.” Barnet look likely to be without influential duo Warren Hackett and striker Ken Charlery who are due to team up with St Lucia for a World Cup qualifier today. But the Bees have already secured cover for Charlery in West Ham striker Manny Omoyimni who they signed on loan from Upton Park in time for the 22-year-old to make his debut as a second-half substitute in the 1-0 defeat at Northampton last Saturday. It was Barnet’s third consecutive defeat. Meanwhile, Llanelli defender Andrew Mumford, who spent a spell at Vetch Field on trial last month, is attracting interest from Premiership side Newcastle. The 18-year-old, who is also being tracked by First Division Grimsby, has been contacted by Newcastle via Reds boss Leighton James about his availability for a trial at St James’ Park.
