Watkin to miss Millwall

Swansea assistant manager Alan Curtis confirmed this morning that the striker will miss the visit to Millall saying. “Watto will definitely be out,” said Curtis. “He may even struggle to play against Notts County on Tuesday. “Jason Smith will have a fitness test on his knee today but Steve Jones has recovered from a gash on his leg and wil be okay.” An injury to a striker was the last thing Swansea needed amid the calls from fans to sign a new front man. Curtis understands their feelings and says moves are still ongoing to get a new man at the Vetch. “I know they are frustrated we haven’t bought anybody new in,” said Curtis, “but we have been trying. “The most important thing at the moment is that we have tied players like Matthew Bound, Jason Smith and Walter Boyd to the club for a number of years. I am sure all the supporters would agree that this is important. “There are other ongoing talks which hopefully will soon be sorted out, but there is still a need to get new players in.” Smith will hope to start repaying the faith shown in him by manager John Hollins. Millwall bosses Alan McLeary and Keith Stevens also have problems up front with doubts over Paul Moody, Neil Harris and Richard Sadler and will definitely be without David Livermore who is suspended.
