Good Luck Jonah

Over the weekend, it looked a cert that Jonah was to link back up with his old manager, Jan Molby at Kidderminster but a last minute change of heart persuaded him to sign at Whaddon Road instead, the club that he left to join us in 1995.
Steve was of course released by John Hollins towards the end of last season. The move was roundly criticised by supporters of the club who insisted that Hollins had made the right decision and, of course with just over 5 weeks until the start of the season we have no ready made replacement who can offer what Jonah did.
Speaking exclusively to JackArmy.net at the time of his release, Jones said "There’s not much to say I didn’t think it would end like this." He was messed around on his contract and, as anyone who has a family to support will justify, you must do right by them.
Anyway, we are pleased that Steve has found himself a new club and today he confirmed to JackArmy.net that he had signed a two-year contract at Cheltenham with a one-year option on renewal.
he effectively agreed the deal last night on the telephone with Steve Cotterill who is on holiday at the moment and gladly put his name to the contract this morning.
Jones said "I am still extremely disappointed at the way things happened at Swansea, it was not a decision that I wanted to take to leave. However, I am sure that this move will prove my standing as a professional footballer and I will prove Steve Cotterill right in giving me the contract"
On his return to Swansea in Cheltenham colours which is scheduled for Monday 27 August "I am looking forward to coming back to Swansea and hope that people understand that I had no option in leaving the club"
Jonah also turned down three other offers apart from Kidderminster in Forest Green Rovers, Hereford United and Northampton Town.
I am sure that I am not alone in wishing Steve every good luck for the future at Cheltenham and I am certain that he is assured of a warm welcome back to the Vetch Field in August. All The Best Steve and thanks for the memories.
