Lewis In TakeOver Bid?

Rumours are strong that Mike himself is involved in the takeover. This rumour has also hit the playing staff and Lewis spoke to them all this morning about their bonuses for next season. It frightens the hell out of me that from coming in as Commercial Manager a few years ago, this man could soon be chairman of Swansea City. Personally, I wouldn’t want him being doorman, let alone chairman.
If this happens, then we have to get a supporter on the board, and to do this I urge everyone to attend the supporters trust meeting in the Brangwyn Hall tomorrow. The people behind this have worked extremely hard to get this going and I understand that representatives from the local media will be there to hear the discussions. If Mike Lewis is going to end up in charge then we need this to happen.
To give anyone who is thinking ‘Maybe it will be an improvement’ an idea of what to expect if he takes over an indication of what to expect, remember this is the man who offered Roger Freestone to Oxford United two weeks ago and then denied that he did on the official site. The man has proved over and over that he cannot be trusted and we can expect some real antics if he is in charge.
We also hear that one of Swansea’s main sponsors was at the Vetch this week to renew his sponsorship deal, something the MD you would expect would be glad to see? Mike’s response – blank him. He does not like supporters and proves this time and time again. Remember the ban on the MAGS for the Stoke game last year – some of those supporters have never been back to Swansea City since then, some of them kids who were shown the hospitality of our former manager, Jan Molby at Kidderminster.
Now, if he is part of the takeover, there is nothing we can do to stop it but you can make a different by supporting the above mentioned trust and trying to make a difference. Supporters trusts have worked at other clubs and they can work here.
And one final indication of what Mike Lewis is like. Two years ago, I was ‘priviliged’ enough to attend a meeting with three other members of the MAGS and Mike in a hotel in Gloucester. We talked about many things – membership schemes, new players, Cyril the Swans book and trouble on the North Bank. Trouble on the North Bank bought about a comment that had I not been there, I would have found difficult to believe, but I was there and he did say it.
His way of stopping trouble on the North Bank was to emply a few ‘plain clothed heavies’ to spot the trouble makers and give them a subtle slap to stop them stepping out of line.
Is this the man you want in charge of OUR football club? Nope? Nor Me
