The Rumour Mill

It’s been an interesting couple of days for rumours at the Vetch. You can lose count of some of the things that you are being told, but this is my best recollection of them all as I heard them.

Make of them what you will but this is what we are hearing here on

The Under-19s. There are quite a few things here that we believe are happening. The first, and seemingly a fact, one of the youngsters, Robert Shannon, is on the verge of being sold to, you guessed it, Southampton for £50,000. We hear that Mr Lewis was heavily involved in this one – a strange thing for a non-club employee to do wouldn’t you think?

Also, as reported in last night’s Evening Post, Mike Cole, father of Simon is very unhappy at the events at the club and is looking at his son’s future. Lee Macclachlan has also quit the club and Ben Davies is believed not to be happy.

Paul Compton has allegedly told them that if they do not like what is going on they can leave and rumour has it that he got a dressing down for this statement and that he could well be on his way soon – next in line for the chop?

Another one that hits us at the moment is Mike Lewis and Tony Petty. The story on this one is that they may well have known each other for 10 years or more. Naturally, we cannot confirm this or not but if this is the case then it kind of blows a hole in Lewis’s statement that he only met Petty when they started negotitations for our Football Club.

Strong rumours around the Vetch this afternoon that Roger is on his way. We all know about this Aussie keeper but selling Roger will be a big big mistake.

These are being passed off as mainly rumours, it’s up to you what you choose to believe but I thought I’d share them with you
