Smith Staying?

Swansea City moved swiftly today to state that the sale of Jason Smith to Reading was pure fiction and any speculation to the contrary was only likely to harm the club.

The club were of course reacting to the story on this site yesterday evening that Jason Smith was to move to Reading in exchange for quarter of a million and Nathan Tyson.

This claim was denied today by Smith, Addison and Shuttleworth. Addison told the official site, ” I have not spoken to Alan Pardew at Reading in the two weeks since we extended Nathan’s loan spell, so quite where these stories are coming from, I couldn’t tell you. ” Whatever, the fact of the matter, is that it is just rubbish, rumour, and there is no truth to it whatsoever. I find it very disappointing, as these type of stories can prove to be very unsettling for all concerned.” while Shuttleworth claimed ” Nobody at the club has had any contact with Reading over this subject, and the first Colin knew of it was when I rung him to tell him about the gossip. I can categorically deny that there is any truth in this whatsoever, and I have to stress that this type of talk, whilst somewhat inevitable given our situation, does nothing but harm.”

Harm? Of course, the ‘sacking’ of the players was of benefit to the team.

There is, of course, the chance that the source on this occasion could be wrong. But then again, who knows what the future holds. I hear that Addison may not be that taken on Nathan Tyson so maybe it is just a move. Personally, I would rather Jason Smith stay, especially if any sale were to help Petty but just remember, not everything that you read on the official site is the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

Before you make a decision, just remember when we told you Hollins was going to be sacked, the club said “No Way” and then 24 hours later he was sacked. One lucky punter (who I do know the name of) backed our judgement and made a killing.

We told you about Peter Nicholas “He is not going to be manager” said the club. True in a way but they said it in a way of “we have not had contact with Peter Nicholas”

“Mike Lewis was at Plymouth” they claimed, maybe, but he did stop off at Barry on the way that night. “Jason Smith will be fit for the start of the season” – only if it starts in October!!

Swansea City are scared by the level of information that the unofficial sites get, now and again that information is bound to be wrong – I only provide what I believe to be true on the site. I hope I am wrong – I want Smudger to stay but until Petty has gone, anything is possible…..

We can only hope that the new owners are a bit more forthcoming with support for the work that unofficial webmasters put in than the last few regimes.
